And a new thing to deal with

So over the weekend Aiden started to have coughing fits. On Saturday night it got to the point that he started crying hard due to it, had trouble breathing and then threw up his whole bottle. Sunday more coughing attacks another bad one on Sunday we were able to calm him before it got to bad. Made the decision after that last cough attack that I would be calling the Pediatrician and making a ASAP appointment and calling work that I may not be making it to work. Didn't sleep well this weekend that's for sure.

first off he now weighs 12 pounds 14 ounces.. that's 4 ounces since Thursday. I was really worried he would loose weight because of the coughing attacks but nope! Such relief with that part! Now his Doc concluded that he was not sick.. which I figured and the coughing has to be due to one of two things. Either reflux is causing the congestion or coughing or asthma. Hubby and many of his family members have asthma so it is possible but really hoping for reflux, it is more likely to go away as he gets older. We are treating both. While there we did a breathing treatment and it did seem to help.

So he is now back on Zantac to help with the reflux and we now have  nebulizer in case he gets bad. His Doctor wants us to have one in case he gets sick he made need it. Its definitely good thing to have.  Here's hoping this all helps him

Connorisms part 1

  • Put Connor in a tank top and he looks at me rubs his arm and says: Mommy I can't wear this my arms are to long!
  •  ME: Hey get Santa out of your mouth!
  •  Me: Connor what flavor cake do you want for your birthday?
    Connor: Cranberry!
  • I dreamt that mommy was delivering pizza and had donuts on her head!
  •  Was at the store and this guy cut me off and I had to go around him to get out. As I passed him Connor went sorry! Next aisle the guy does it again and Connor goes excuse you! I keep a straight face and said no hunny its excuse me. I quickly leave the aisle and start laughing. Nice how kids can get away with something you would not be able to and yeah thought the words!
  • Connor was trying to get daddy's attention  so I say: Connor say the magic word. He looks at me and says magic word? I nod he runs off and starts saying well magic words lol.
  • When seeing any child: Is that my friend?
  • What he calls Aiden: My Aiden!
  • Me tell me a story : Connor there was a dinosaur pirate that ate  mot meat. Mot meat is made from tumbleweeds cooked using a feather.

6 months post op and genetics

First off yesterday marked 6 months since Aiden's surgery. His sacre looks so good!

Hardly noticeable right? I forgot to mention that the night that he turned 6 months he started rolling from his tummy to his back. He can now roll both ways! Way to go little guy!

We went to Primary's so he can be seen by the genetic cardiologist group. 30% of kids with heart defects have genetic issues. They don't believe he has any. They kept going on about is eyes being farther a part then normal. I told him he may look like a little white boy but there is Hawaiian and Asian in him! They don't want to see him again. There worried about his slow weight gain. I'm not hes growing! He know weighs  pound  ounces and is 24 and a half inches long.

I went and looked at photos of Connor.
Eyes look the same to me width wise.

Was going to write more but both boys are up and its now much harder to type lol.

Does it get easier?

Man he doesn't have his next appointment until Thursday at Primaries but I'm already nervous about it! I mean not just nervous I'm having small panic attacks.. crap. Its been a long time since I've had panic attacks! But these appointments just put me on edge and its not even his normal cardiologist we are seeing! There not even checking his heart this time! Its an evaluation on how his development is. they want to make sure hes on track and not to far behind.. I know he's not. I know there is no reason to worry about this appointment, but I can' help it! The last two cardio apps were like bomb shells in my lap what the hell will this one end up as???????

Will I ever not be on edge about these appointments?

Butter, Super mom and the cold feet.

the photo on the right was taken the day Aiden was released from the hospital the onsie he is wearing was the first piece of clothes he has ever worn. On the right that's him wearing the same onsie. He's still little but he feels a lot bulkier when I hold him now. He doesn't feel as fragile as he used to feel. Which makes this momma very happy!

Outing

We went to the park on Saturday for my cousin's sons first birthday party. Its the first time I took Aiden really out and about. The weather was good and so it turned out really well.  Aiden was borrowed quite a few times by my aunts and uncle. The fact that he no longer has a feeding tube meant mire people were willing to hold him.

Connor had a lot of fun. He loves parks!
